Christmas Services 2011

Michael Tan preached at the two Christmas evangelistic services at Covenant Evangelical Free Church Woodlands whilst Peter Chao took the three services at their Bukit Panjang Center. Shun also performed at the Woodlands services to a rousing reception.

Michael preached about the meaning of Christ's birth from Luke 2:8-11 and invited the seekers in the audience to receive Christ into their lives as well as Christians to recommit their lives to God. Many indicated their responses by raising of hands at the two services. It was indeed a God-blessed Christmas for these dear people as well as for the congregations as they listened attentively to the message. Peter also saw a warm and enthusiastic reception to his messages as hearts were touched by his message.

Peter preached at 3 services on Christmas Day at the Evangelical EFC at the Bukit Panjang campus. Using a line from Phillip Brooks' carol "O Little Town of Bethlehem", The hopes and fears of all the years/Are met in Thee tonight, Peter explained how Christ can fulfill our deepest hopes and overcome our greatest fears. Hopes and fears are two sides of the same coin. We all cherish hopes, but because we cannot control our future, we fear how things in life can go wrong.

At all the 3 services, the Message of Christmas hope found resonance in many hearts. When Peter issued the invitation to place our hopes and fears in Christ, there were many who stood up to indicate their commitment. The most responsive was at the third service, the smallest crowd of the three congregations, where the mostly young adult audience committed their hopes and fears to God.
