The Book of Acts is about the intrusive power of the Gospel in transforming human lives. Although Luke meant to write an orderly account for Theophilus beginning with his Gospel, what transpired in Acts is nothing orderly as God through the Holy Spirit radicalized the minds and hearts of the Apostles and a former persecutor of the Church. Subsequently, the early Christians were the ones who turned their world upside down. How does God move us out of our comfort zone? How do we respond to God so that we can be aligned with His purpose in reaching out to the lost, the hurting, and the hardened? If you are like the men of Galilee, always wondering what will happen next, the book of Acts may just direct us towards an unpredictable but fulfilling Spirit empowered life.
